Why a Washington Licensed Midwife?

The state of Washington has the highest requirements for education and clinical training for Licensed Midwives of any state in the U.S. For example, before a student candidate can even sit for her state exams, a minimum of 100 births are required, more than twice as many as for a licensed Certified Nurse Midwife or a Certified Professional Midwife. That is 20 times as many as are required before a doctor can deliver babies in a hospital.

Food for thought, isn't it?
